
Boeckman named Player of the Week

BOARDMAN, Ohio - Mahoning Valley Phantoms center Chad Boeckman (St. Louis, MO) has been named the North American Hockey League's North Division Player of the Week for the week ending November 26.
Last weekend, Boeckman registered three goals and two assists in the Phantoms' three-game sweep of the Marquette (Mich.) Rangers, extending the Phantoms team-record winning streak to 12 games.
On Friday, Boeckman assisted on Adam Snead's game-winning goal in a 4-2 win. On Saturday, he assisted on Chris Fairbanks game-winner and scored in a 5-1 win. In Sunday's weekend finale, he scored two third period goals in another 5-1 Phantoms triumph.
Boeckman currently has a seven-game point scoring streak, recording five goals and six assists over that span. For the season, he has eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 26 games.
Boeckman is the fourth Phantom in five weeks to receive the award, joining two-time winning goaltender Ryan Zapolski and center Nathan Longpre.
The Phantoms host the U.S. National Team this weekend on Dec. 1-2 at the Ice Zone in Boardman. Friday's face-off is set for 7 p.m.
Saturday's game has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. to accommodate and promote the Youngstown State-Illinois State football playoff game at 6 p.m. The first 200 fans attending Saturday's Phantoms game will receive a free ticket to the Penguins' 1-AA quarterfinal matchup at Stambaugh Stadium.
