Tulsa Shock News Release

TULSA, Okla. (July 25, 2012) - BlueCross and BlueShield of Oklahoma will partner with the Tulsa Shock, American Fidelity Assurance Company and Williams on the team's "Timeout for Fitness" assembly program.

BlueCross and BlueShield of Oklahoma will provide teachers at every assembly with a Volt fitness video so Tulsa area students can continue healthy fitness and eating habits after participating in the Shock's assembly program.

"We are extremely delighted to have BlueCross and BlueShield of Oklahoma as a new corporate partner and involved in our Timeout For Fitness Assembly program for the 2012 and 2013 seasons," Shock President Steve Swetoha said. "Our assembly program continues to grow and reach more students every year and this progress would not be possible without the generous support of our partners."

The 45-minute assembly is a fun, entertaining and interactive program featuring the high-flying Shock mascot, Volt, and professional clinicians from the Shock Basketball Academy that showcases simple, fun basketball exercises and healthy eating habits that can help students stay fit.

Over the past two schools years, the Shock along with American Fidelity Assurance and Williams have partnered for 45 assemblies in elementary and middle schools in the greater Tulsa area.

In addition, BlueCross and BlueShield of Oklahoma is the title sponsor for the Shock's Health and Wellness game on August 17 versus the San Antonio Silver Stars. BlueCross and BlueShield of Oklahoma will giveaway Volt growth charts to the first 500 kids 12 and under who attend the game.
