
BlueCats Sign Scotty Stewart

EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville BlueCats are excited to announce that veteran defensive back Scotty Stewart will return for the 2006 season. Stewart has anchored the BlueCats defensive backfield for the past two seasons and has not missed a game during his time in Evansville, playing in all 14 games in 2004 and all 16 games last season.
In 2005, Stewart recorded 38.5 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for a loss. He had 4 interceptions, recovered a fumble, and led the team with 12 pass break ups. He also scored a touchdown on an interception return against Lexington in the 2005 UIF playoffs.
Scotty Stewart also had an outstanding year in 2004 when he recorded 44.5 tackles and led the team with 3 interceptions and 9 break ups.
Now entering his third year in Evansville, Stewart already holds a couple team records. He is the BlueCats all-time leader in interceptions (7) and pass break ups (21). He ranks in third place all-time on the career total tackles list.
Always a fan favorite, Stewart is tied with linemen Doran Yilla for second most games played in BlueCats history.
Stewart is entering year 6 of his professional career. Prior to his days in Evansville, Scotty Stewart played for the Tennessee ThunderCats in the IPFL.
