BlueCats Back in Action Saturday at Peoria

EVANSVILLE, IN: The Evansville BlueCats return to the football field this Saturday night when they battle the Peoria Rough Riders at Carver Arena. The BlueCats (1-4) enter this game coming off their 2006 bye week in UIF Week Six. Last week the Rough Riders (0-5) lost at home to the Sioux City Bandits 63-26. Saturday's game can be heard live on ESPN Radio 94.9 in Evansville.
Evansville BlueCats Head Coach John Hart said, "Our guys had a good week off, got some rest, and a lot of them got to enjoy some time with their families, but they're ready to get back to work. We've been able to make some changes and look at some new things over the bye week and we're excited about getting back in the swing of things and playing football again on Saturday."
BlueCats running back Dale Jennings and kicker Ton-Ton Luzayadio rank 4th and 5th in the UIF in total scoring. Luzayadio currently sits in 4th place with 57 points scored and Jennings sits in a tie for 5th with 54 points this season. Jennings is one of only four players in the league to score a touchdown rushing, receiving, and on a kick return. Luzayadio leads the league with 14 field goals and owns a league best 51.9% field goal percentage.
Wide Receivers Sean Bennett and Levron Williams both rank among the leagues top ten in receptions per game and receiving yards per game. Bennett has caught 21 passes for 307 yards and 3 touchdowns while Williams has grabbed 19 receptions for 219 yards and 6 touchdowns.
John Winchester is leading the BlueCats defense with 40 tackles and 12 tackles for loss. He is the league leader in tackles per game and tackles for loss and is coming off his third UIF Defensive Player of the Week honorable mention distinction this season. He is on pace to shatter the team record for tackles in a season set by last year's UIF Defensive Player of the Year, Connie Brown.
Kickoff on Saturday will be at 7:05pm at Carver Arena in the Peoria Civic Center. The pregame show will start on ESPN Radio 94.9 at 6:45pm.
