Blue Sox Set to Face Great Britain
June 26, 2012 - New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)
Valley Blue Sox News Release
Holyoke, Mass - Playing opponents in the Western Division and Eastern Division of the New England Collegiate Baseball League is what usually is on the Holyoke Blue Sox schedule.
But on July 5th a team will walk into MacKenzie Stadium, that is not a member of the NECBL and to that note, doesn't even call the United States home.
The Great Britain National Team will make its way to the United States and play four of the 10 teams in the NECBL.
The round of games will begin on July 2nd as Great Britain faces North Adams, then against Keene on July 3rd, Vermont on July 4th and then wrap up their time against the NECBL against the Blue Sox on July 5th.
Last season Team USA made its rounds in the NECBL, but this season it will be the Great Britain National Team.
The Blue Sox and Great Britain game is set for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch on July 5th at MacKenzie Stadium.
