
Blue Sox Host Mountaineers in Final Home Series

The Holyoke Blue Sox will hold their Fan Appreciation Day on Thursday, August 1 at Mackenzie Stadium in Holyoke as part of a doubleheader against the Vermont Mountaineers in a potential playoff preview.
The Blue Sox (19-22) are coming off a huge 2-0 win against the North Adams Steeplecats in North Adams, Massachusetts on Wednesday night.
Holyoke is now tied for fourth place in the Western Division with the Saratoga Brigade heading into the final two days of the regular season.
The Blue Sox are now set to take on the Mountaineers in a doubleheader on Thursday at Mackenzie Stadium with both games set to be seven innings apiece.
The gates will open at 4:00 PM for the 5:00 PM Game 1 start; one ticket is valid for both contests. There will be special merchandise discounts, giveaways, and a few special surprises in store for fans.
Among the prizes that will be given away are two pairs of tickets to Six Flags, two pairs of tickets to the Premier Fighting event at Chez Josef on Saturday, August 3, and a pair of tickets to a game at Fenway between the Baltimore Orioles and the Boston Red Sox.
Additionally, there will be a t-shirt and Frisbee toss between games.
There will also be a post-game autograph session right on the field after the second game where fans will have the opportunity to meet the players, coaches, and staff of the team.
"We want to thank our fans for their tremendous support over the course of the season," Seth Dussault, the team's assistant director of media relations, said. "Blue Sox fans are the best in the league."
The event is sponsored by United Water and the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, who will provide 100 tickets for members of the Springfield and Holyoke Boys and Girls Clubs.
