Valley Blue Sox News Release
KEENE, NH-The Blue Sox were eliminated from the playoffs after a disappointing 16-1 loss to the Keene Swamp Bats in a game that quickly escaped them.
Keene scored three in the first, one in the second, and two in the third off of starter Jordan Kutzer. The Blue Sox got on the board in the fifth when designated hitter Michael Burke doubled-the Blue Sox first hit of the game-and was driven in by left fielder Jason Lombardozzi, but Keene responded with four in the bottom half of the frame to put the game out of reach, adding two in the sixth and four in the seventh for the 16-1 final.
The win went to David Sosebee, who pitched seven brilliant innings of two hit baseball, walking one and striking out five, with the lone run against coming unearned.
Keene advances to play the Vermont Mountaineers in the Western Division Finals, while the Eastern Division Finals will feature the Mystic Schooners and the defending champion Newport Gulls.
