Blue Ducks begin final homestand
June 4, 2004 - United States Basketball League (USBL)
Brevard Blue Ducks News Release
Melbourne, Florida â The Brevard Blue Ducks end their 2004 home season with a final homestand that includes two games this weekend and one game next weekend.
Brevard will take on the Adirondack Wildcats Saturday at 7:00 PM at the Clemente Center at Florida Tech in Melbourne.
On Sunday, the Ducks will face the Oklahoma Storm in a 5:00 PM game. One more contest on Sunday the 13th against St. Louis will bring the 2004 home season to a close.
"Every year it's like a whirlwind," explained team owner Mike Richman. You do months and months of preparation and then it's over before you know it."
The Blue Ducks will finish their season on the road, playing four games in New York and Pennsylvania before the post-season tournament begins the last weekend in June.
The Blue Duck are in a precarious position thanks to their slow start and are in jeopardy of not making the tournament. They will probably not find out until their final road swing.
"We put ourselves in this situation. It's not pleasant not knowing whether you've made the playoffs or not and having to depend on other teams losing, but that's our position and we're stuck with it right now," added Richman.
"The one thing I can say is the home season has been great. The fans have been wonderful. They've been really into our games and really helped us pull some wins out toward the end of the season."
DUCK NOTES:
Randy "White Chocolate" Gill will return once again for the Ducks' last games in Brevard.
