Brookings Blizzard News Release

The Aberdeen Wings cruised to 7-2 victory of the Brookings Blizzard on Thursday night at the Larson Ice Center thanks to an efficient power play, balanced attack, and strong goal tending.

Aberdeen was 3-5 on power play chances during the game and six different players scored for the Wings. Justin Parizek scored the game's first goal on a power play at the 9:27 mark of the first period.

Brookings evened things up at the 11:59 mark when Justin Moody scored off of assists from Evan Hesse and Derek Sand.

The Wings would score two more goals in a one-minute span late in the first period to take a 3-1 into the break.

The second period proved to be much of the same as the Wings continued to pressure the Blizzard at the defensive end. Tanner Holmquist and Jonathan Grebosky each found the net in the second period and the Wings lead 5-1 heading into the second intermission.

In the third period Grebosky would get his second goal of the game and Tyler Cisar would add another for good measure.

The Blizzard continued to battle and would score once more with six minutes to play in the game. Aidan Cavallini scored on the power play for the Blizzard. Moody and Jared Docken were credited with the assists.

The Blizzard will travel to Bismarck tonight to take on the Bobcats at the VFW Center at 7:15. Then on Saturday the Blizzard will look for revenge against the Wings in Aberdeen.
