Bismarck at Alexandria - 12-09-05
It all started with what looked to be a game that would go into the third period without anyone scoring. The goals were locked down in the first period with hot saves by both goalies. Sam Kelly made it a 1-0 Blizzard lead when he broke away after picking off a pass from a Bismarck defenseman shorthanded and won the showdown between him and the Bobcats' goalie at 17:02 into the second period. It was Scott Motz & Dan Swanson that kept the Blizzard in the lead each scoring a goal. Swanson put the Blizzard up 2-0 with the assist going to Paul Henderson. The Bobcats fought back with a goal shortly after Swanson's scored to cut the lead to one, the Bobcats' goal was scored by Dan Patton at 12:21 of the 3rd period. Motz scored (with Jonny Breuer and Brett Burgau assisting) at 14:23 and the Blizzard held this lead until the end. They won it with teamwork and the hot skills of Joe Calvi in goal.
Alexandria at Bismarck - 12-10-05
The game on Saturday night in Bismarck was a tough game for the Blizzard from the opening faceoff, when Jim Jensen and the Bobcats' Lamoureux dropped the gloves off the opening faceoff. It was all down hill after that for the Blizzard. The Blizzard's goals by Eric Borre (assisted by Jonny Breuer and Brett Burgau) and Dan Swanson (assisted by Rylan Galiardi and Scott Motz) was not enough to win the game. Both of the Blizzard?s goals were power play goals and three of Bismarck's six goals were power plays (with one empty net goal). Special teams were the difference in 6-2 Bobcats' win. The Blizzard have 3 more games before the holidays 12/14 @ Southern MN, 12/16 @ Fargo, 12/17 vs. Fargo.
