Alexandria Blizzard News Release
(Alexandria, MN) The Minnesota Blizzard Junior "A" Hockey organization has announced that Forward Ryan Hawkins has been selected, as the team's "Player of the Week" for the period ending October 30th. This is the second time this season that Ryan has earned the honor.
In spite of battling an injury throughout Saturday's 4-2 Minnesota win at Bismarck, Ryan tallied the winning goal, midway through the final period. The goal snapped a 2-2 tie, and put the Blizzard on top, for the duration of the game. With seven goals on the season, Ryan's offensive capabilities are one reason why the Blizzard has moved into second place in the NAHL Western Division, with a 9-3-1 record.
This is Ryan's first season with the Minnesota Blizzard, after playing last season for the Chicago Steel, of the USHL. He grew up in Eden Prairie, MN, and was a finalist for the "Mr. Hockey" award in Minnesota, following his Senior year at Eden Prairie High School. He is the son of Shelly and Dave Hawkins.
Congratulations to Ryan Hawkins....the Minnesota Blizzard "Player of the Week"!
