Blizzard end skid with OT win

The Minnesota Blizzard Junior "A" Hockey team halted a two-game losing skid, by defeating Bismarck, 3-2 in overtime Sunday night.

Minnesota jumped to a two goal lead, on scores by Josh Frider (Moorhead, MN) and Sean Fish (Ramsey, MN). The Bobcats tallied single goals in the second and third periods to tie the score, forcing overtime. The outcome was settled at the 2:53 of the extra session, when leading scorer Ryan Hawkins (Eden Prairie, MN) netted his 16th goal of the year. Marcus Paulson (Eden Prairie, MN) was the winning goalie, stopping 36 of 38 Bismarck shots. The victory puts the Blizzard record at 18-10-2, in second place, behind NAH West-leading Helena.

The next game for the Blizzard will be Sunday, December 26th, when the Helena Bighorns visit Alexandria, for a 5:00 drop.
