Alexandria Blizzard News Release

The Minnesota Blizzard Junior "A" Hockey team saw its three-game win streak come to an end Thursday evening, at Alexandria's Runestone Community Center. The Helena Bighorns utilized a couple of early goals and a shutout by Chad Beiswenger in the nets, leading to a 3-0 win. Cody Carson and Brandon Marino tallied in the first 11 minutes of the contest, to provide Beiswenger with all of the offense that he would need. Nate Rein added an empty net goal with nine seconds left, to create the final score. Beiswenger stopped all 25 shots that came his way. Blizzard Goalie Clay Nestor (Glenwood, MN) had a fine game between the pipes, as well, stopping 34 of 36 Bighorn shots.

The Blizzard enter the 2005 calendar year with a record of 20-11-2, good for 42 points. The next action for the Blizzard will be on Friday, January 7th, as Bismarck provides the opposition for a 7:00 game in Alexandria, MN.
