Blitz QB Bobby Pesavento will be a guest on the Coach's Corner

BAKERSFIELD - Bakersfield Blitz QB Bobby Pesavento will be a guest on the weekly broadcast of "The Coach's Corner" on Friday, August 11 at 9:30 a.m. "The Coach's Corner" is a new segment on The KRAB Radio Morning Show with Meathead, Desi, and Rocky Nash, Friday mornings at 9:30 a.m.

Bobby Pesavento (6'4, 230, Univ. of Colorado) joined the Blitz in mid season to play back up to at the time starting QB, Mike Wall. During the second quarter in the game against Amarillo on June 3, Pesavento replaced Wall after he had two interceptions and two fumbles. Pesavento helped bring the Blitz to a victory against Amarillo with 12 of 28 passes for 182 yards and 3 touchdowns.Pesavento went on to play four additional games with the Blitz until he suffered a knee injury on July 8 in the game against Everett. During Pesavento's rehabilitation, former Spokane QB Alex Neist started for the Blitz. After three weeks off and back with a healthy knee, Pesavento replaced Neist in the first round playoff game in Fresno against the Central Valley Coyotes on August 4. Pesavento helped lead the Blitz to their first playoff win in franchise history with 17 of 27 passes for 168 yards, 3 touchdown passes, and 1 rushing touchdown. Pesavento has been named the starting QB for the remainder of the postseason.

Pesavento and the rest of the Blitz team will be on the road to Washington to compete against the top-seeded Spokane Shock in round two of the 2006 ArenaCup playoffs. Kick off is set for 7:00 p.m. at Spokane Arena. The game will be broadcasted live on KERN AM 1410 with host, Puck Whitnack.
