Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - With just six weeks until the home opener, the Montreal Impact officially launched its 2014 marketing campaign on Wednesday. For the entire season, the club will be highlighting its players and promoting the club under the theme: Bleu. Blanc. Noir.
"Blue, white and black are the colours of both our jersey and our logo, which have become symbols of our identity that continues to grow," said Impact Executive Vice-President Richard Legendre. "We want all our supporters to wear our colours, furthering their sense of belonging to the club. We are in our third season in MLS, therefore, we want to fortify our place in the city's sporting landscape."
The club is looking for more exposure on different platforms. Throughout the 2014 season, the marketing campaign will be featured on billboards and bus shelters, along with advertisements in newspapers, on TV, online and on the radio. In addition, street banners will be put up along the city's major arteries.
Social media will continue to be an important tool to reach out to supporters and help introduce the Impact to the general public. To help improve its following, the Impact will look to increase its online content with more video and exclusive access.
The organization is also looking to improve its visibility with an increase in public appearances. The FIFA World Cup this summer will be a great opportunity to help grow the club and the game.
Renewals at 81%
The sales campaign which started last July, has become the most successful in club history, having reached the same number of season ticket holders from last year (8,300), two months prior to the first home game.
Over 81% of members have renewed their season tickets for 2014, a significant improvement over renewals from 2013.
"The decision to start the process mid-season last year has paid dividends," said Richard Legendre. "Now, all sales made from this point on will be growth from 2013. We are confident that we will be able to reach a new plateau of 9,000 season tickets for 2014, but we still have the 10,000 number in sight."
In addition to its season tickets, the Impact will focus on promoting its Olympic Trio at Olympic Stadium.
"We have a great start to our season at home with Clint Dempsey and the Seattle Sounders FC, then a visit by the reigning regular season champions in the New York Red Bulls and finally the Chicago Fire, former club of our head coach Frank Klopas," added Richard Legendre.
The Olympic trio is available starting at $56, a savings of up to 30% when compared to single game ticket prices.
2014 Schedule
The Impact will kick off the 2014 season on March 8 against FC Dallas, at Toyota Stadium, before heading to Houston to take on the Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium on March 15. The home opener is set for March 22 against the Seattle Sounders FC at Olympic Stadium, which will also host games versus the New York Red Bulls on April 5 and the Chicago Fire on April 12. The first game at Stade Saputo is set for April 26 against the Philadelphia Union.
