Blaze Receiver Joins Tennessee Titans

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze are pleased to announce that WR Michael Preston (6-4, 205, Heidelberg University) has been signed as an undrafted free agent to the Tennessee Titans of the NFL. Preston will report to training camp Wednesday morning.
"I believe the experience with the Blaze will help me going into the Titans training camp from an aspect of adjusting quickly to a new environment and being professional," said Preston. "I plan on attacking this opportunity the same way I did with the Blaze by being humble and soaking up all that information I can that will help me become a great receiver and teammate."
Preston, who appeared in two games with the Blaze, recorded 26 receptions for 319 yard and five touchdowns. Preston led the receiving corp with 10 catches for 97 yards in the Blaze's victory last Friday versus the Cleveland Gladiators.
"As an AFL coach it is always exciting to see one of our young players get signed by an NFL team. Preston is a fun player to watch and we are happy to see his hard work rewarded with a contract from the Tennessee Titans," said Head Coach Ron James. "His signing is not only a testament to his abilities but also to the type of players the Utah Blaze signs to play in the Arena Football League. We wish him well and hope to see him playing on Sundays this fall. "
In his final campaign at Heidelberg University, he led the team with 76 receptions for 1,213 receiving yards. He started all 10 games and led the team with 15 touchdown passes. Preston was named to the AFCA All-American Team as a senior, the first time a student-athlete was honored with the award in the school's history.
The Blaze will be placing Preston on the Other League Exempt List and will retain his AFL rights.
