Utah Blaze News Release
SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze announce the re-signing of quarterback JOE GERMAINE (6-3, 220, Ohio State) to a two-year contract through 2008. As per team policy, terms were not disclosed.
"Joe is not an 'up-and-coming' quarterback - he has arrived," said Blaze head coach/general manager DANNY WHITE. "He has all the tools necessary to succeed in this league and we are excited to have him around to keep us in ArenaBowl contention year-in and year-out for years to come."
Germaine, who is in his third AFL season, connected on 184-of-273 passes for 2,330 yards, 41 touchdowns and five interceptions in nine games. The former Buckeye led the Blaze to a 3-4 start before missing action due to a broken middle finger on his throwing hand in Week 7 against Nashville. Germaine currently ranks No. 3 in the AFL's "Arena Passer" Rating system.
