Utah Blaze News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - In an effort to teach the community's youth the importance of living a healthy and active lifestyle, the Utah Blaze announced today it will once again be rolling out its Stay Active, Stay Strong program for the 2012-2013 school year.

The program focuses on teaching children to maintain a healthier all-around lifestyle by making proper diet choices and using daily play activities as a form of exercise. Rather than stay inside playing video games or watching television, students are encouraged to keep themselves in better health by having fun with physically engaging activities.

Participating schools receive an assembly visit in which Utah Blaze players and mascot Torch present the program to the students. Each student receives a participation form that allows them to track their daily exercise activities for one month, as well as a free ticket to any 2013 Utah Blaze home game!

At the end of the program, the participation sheets are gathered and tallied. The school with the highest level of participation will receive a visit from the entire Utah Blaze team at its end of the year Field Day, or another event orchestrated by that school and the Utah Blaze. In addition, two individual students (one boy, one girl) with the highest level of participation will be selected for a VIP experience at a 2013 Utah Blaze home game!

If your school wishes to participate in the Stay Active, Stay Strong program, please visit utblaze.com/sass and submit the registration form located on the website.
