Blast top the Lancers 20-9

Rochester Lancers News Release
(Baltimore, MD) - MISL Leading scorer Doug Miller had a five point game, but it was not enough as the Baltimore Blast (15-4) topped the Rochester Lancers (6-12) by a score of 20-9. Defenders Evan McNeley and Kyle Manscuk had the other two Lancers goals. Baltimore was led offensively by Lucio Gonzaga who had six points on the night.
The Lancers got off to a strong start with Miller scoring a 3-point goal early in the game and a 2-point goal later in the first quarter to give them a 5-4 lead after 15 minutes of play.
Adauto Neto and Adriano Dos Santos would score for Baltimore to start the second quarter and the Blast would never give up the lead from there. McNeley's goal would pull the Lancers to within a point at 8-7 at the halftime break.
Baltimore would score the first four goals of the second half, including a pair by Tino Nunez, to break the game open. Manscuk would get the lone Lancers goal in the third quarter as they would trail 16-9 heading into the final quarter.
Baltimore would get a nice goal from Tony Donatelli and an open net tally from Adriano Dos Santos to close out the scoring at 20-9.
With four goals by the Lancers this evening Dunkin Donuts will donate four pounds of coffee to Foodlink. So far this season Dunkin Donuts has donated 104 pounds of coffee.
The Lancers will return to action on Friday, January 25th when they visit the Baltimore Blast at 7:35 pm at Mariner Arena. The Lancers will return home to Christopher J. Wilmot Field at the Blue Cross Arena on Sunday, January 27th when they host the Missouri Comets at 1 pm. All matches can be heard live on the Lancers flagship station Fickle 93.3 FM with veteran broadcaster Joe Giuliano once again calling all of the action.
