Blast Return Home After Winless Weekend

LAST WEEK-It was a rough weekend on the road as the Blast opened the season 0-2. The Charlotte Eagles handed the Blast their first loss of the season by a score of 6-1 on Friday evening. The Blast looked to take out their frustrations on the Atlanta Silverbacks Saturday but once again came up short by a score of 5-2.

THIS WEEK-After taking the day off Sunday, the Blast are back at practice the entire week at Cumberland Park in Fishers. Training sessions are closed to the public but open to the media. Contact the MorSports, Inc. office to confirm training sites and times.

RECENT SIGNINGS-The Blast have signed several new faces recently. Emmanuel Ayim joins the team after spending the last two years with the San Diego Flash where he scored 12 goals and added 10 assists. Ezenwa Ihekoronye comes to the Blast from the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. The 6-1, 190 pound defender is sure to be a force on the field in 2002. The Blast have also signed rookie goalkeeper Mark Spears who hails from Kansas City, MO. Spears was the in the net for a NAIA National Championship team at William Carey College.

UPCOMING CLINICS-The Blast will be holding a free player clinic in the coming weeks.

April 30th--Mooresville Player Clinic at Pioneer Park (5:30pm-7:00pm) BLAST AND ME-TOBACCO FREE-The Blast open up their season at home against the Milwaukee Rampage on Friday, May 3rd at 11:00am with their second annual TOBACCO FREE event. Nearly 1,000 students will be joining the Blast as they celebrate the choice to be tobacco free.

LUNCH WITH A KICK-Make plans for an extended lunch hour on Friday, May 3rd when the Blast kick off at 11:00am against the Milwaukee Rampage. Bring your co-workers out, kick back, and enjoy the day as Indiana's only professional soccer team takes the field for the first time at home in the 2002 season.

INDY 500 NIGHT-The Blast are home again on Friday, May 10th against Portland at 7:35pm. It's Brickyard Crossing/Indy 500 night with special appearances and autograph sessions with Indy car drivers.
