Indiana Blast News Release

INDIANAPOLIS- The Cincinnati Riverhawks (7-8-0, 21 pts) beat the Indiana Blast (2-14-1 7 pts) 3-1 Wednesday night at Kuntz Stadium. Jamar Beasley had the lone Blast goal in the 65th minute. It was a disappointing loss as the Blast had several failed scoring opportunities.

In the 9th minute, John Cipriani outran Justin McMillan to a loose ball and sent a pass to himself down the sidelines. Cipriani then caught up with the ball just before the goal line and sent in a cross intended for Craig Yacks, but Mark Allen, in an attempt to clear the ball, scored for Cincinnati.

After another Cincinnati goal, Rodrigo Costa stole the ball at midfield and dribbled down the middle of the field with Jamar Beasley to his right against two defenders. Costa made a couple of moves to create space for a shot. Costa's shot was punched away by Eric Pattison, Beasley was there to put away the rebound.

Logan Wallace scored in stoppage time to make the final score 3-1. The Blast had a shot blocked by Rasool Alizadeh, Beasley and Costa had six shots each. Four of which, either trickled past the goal or were stopped at point blank range by a different Blast player. The Blast defense played well in the second half holding Cincinnati to just two shots on goal.

The Blast's next home game will be Sunday, July 13th against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at 7:35 pm at Kuntz Stadium. Gates open at 6:30pm.
