Blast Host Charleston Battery Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS-The next home game for the Blast will be Sunday, August 24th at 5:35pm as they host the visiting Charleston Battery for the second time in as many seasons. In 2002, the Blast went to double overtime with the Battery, earning them a 0-0 draw.

Preceding the Blast game, the Hawthorne League will be holding their Major Division Final between Michuacan and Pumas at 2:45pm on the west field at Kuntz Stadium. Pre-game festivities will begin at 2:30pm. Trophies and awards will be handed out at 5:10pm, directly before the coin toss of the Blast game.

Tickets for the Hawthorne League Final will be $9 for adults and $5 for students. This fee will include a ticket to the Blast game that evening.

It's also www.demodock.com night on Sunday in which pre-selected participants will be judged at halftime on their rendition of the National Anthem. With help from the fans in the stands, three judges will select a winner and that person will sing the national anthem at final Blast game of the 2003 season on August 31st at 5:35pm.

LAST WEEK-The Blast returned home Monday morning after dropping two games over the weekend. The Blast played tough in Portland Friday evening, only to lose on a goal by Gavin Wilkinson in the 90th minute. Jeff Dresser had a chance to tie the game in the 90th minute, but his shot was saved by Portland keeper Josh Saunders.

On Sunday the Blast lost to Seattle 4-1. Semir Mesanovic had the lone goal for the Blast on a penalty kick in the 39th minute

NEXT HOME GAME-The "Last Blast of Summer" will be August 31st as the Milwaukee Wave United return to town. The game is scheduled for a 5:35pm kick-off. The last time Milwaukee visited Kuntz Stadium, the Blast came away with a 3-1 victory.

The Blast will be holding their annual Yard Sale where Blast T-shirts and merchandise will be on sale for unbeatable prices. The Blast will also be auctioning off all 2003 game jerseys. The highest bidder will walk away with the game worn home or road jersey of their favorite player.
