INDIANAPOLIS-A record crowd at Kuntz Memorial Stadium definitely got their money's worth Saturday night. Over 4,500 fans proved to the world why Blast fans are simply the best and cheered on their Blast to a 2-2 double-overtime tie against the defending A-league champions the Rochester Raging Rhinos. The event was a piece of history as Fox Sports World broadcasted live for the first time from Kuntz Stadium.
On the same evening, MorSports, Inc., owners of the Indiana Blast, launched their campaign to bring back their W-League team in 2003. The Indiana Blaze of the W-league were a part of MorSports, Inc. from 1997-2001 until budgetary constraints forced them to be sidelined for the 2002 season.
In the coming weeks there will be several ways that YOU can contribute to the comeback of the women's team in 2003. MorSports, Inc. must raise $50,000 by October 1st, 2002 to ensure their return. In addition, MorSports, Inc. will be looking for help to rename the team.

THIS WEEK-After taking Monday off, the Blast are back at practice the entire week. Training is open to both the public and the media. Contact MorSports Inc. for practice times and locations.
UPCOMING MATCHES- On August 25th at 5:35pm, the Blast will partner with SBC Ameritech to host the Charleston Battery for the first time this season.
Fan Appreciation Night will be September 1st at 5:35pm as the Blast step on the field at Kuntz Stadium for the last time in the 2002 season. The Blast will look to finish the season off with a win in appreciation of their loyal fans. Plan to arrive early for the 3rd annual Indiana Blast yard sale where you can pick up Blast and Blaze jerseys, shorts and much more.
