Saskatoon, SK - The Saskatoon Blades are pleased to announce the acquisition of 6-foot-3 defenceman Carter Herman from the Regina Pats in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick.
"With Jordan Martin's return to U18, we needed to add depth to our blue line," said Blades general manager Colin Priestner, "Carter is a smooth skating, big body defender who will have a chance to get integrated with our group this week before the U.S. road trip."
Herman, born in Swift Current, SK, was drafted by the Pats in the fourth round, 71st overall in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft. The 18-year-old blueliner has one assist through 37 career WHL games, and dressed in two playoff games last year with Regina.
The Blades want to welcome the Herman family to the organization and look forward to working with Carter on achieving his goals in hockey.
