Blackjacks Pick up First Win in Franchise History: by the Numbers

The Atlantic City Blackjacks (1-1) put on an impressive show for the 6,139 fans in attendance against the Columbus Destroyers (0-2) on Saturday afternoon. Randy Hippeard was solid in Week Two throwing for 143 yards with 17 completions and 2 touchdowns. He also had 1 rushing touchdown on the day.

Along with Hippeard, Antwane Grant and LaMark Brown each had themselves 1 rushing touchdown as well. Wes Mauia had 3 carries for 11 yards and 1 reception for a touchdown. Grant led all receiver's in Week Two with 6 receptions for 41 yards. Brown had 5 receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown.

The Blackjacks dominated on the defensive side of the ball led by defensive end Monte Lewis who had 3 sacks with a total loss of 26 yards. Antron Dillon also had 1 sack for a loss of 3 yards. Arthur Hobbs again had 9 tackles in Week Two and Kiante Northington had 4 tackles and 3 big pass breakups. Lynden Trail had 1 interception for 12 yards which he returned for a touchdown.

Kendrick Ings had 44 receiving yards and 17 kick return yards giving him 61 all-purpose yards for the game. The team played an excellent game on both sides of the ball in Week Two, this first win should give the team great momentum heading into Week Three. Next up for the Atlantic City Blackjacks (1-1) is the Washington Valor (0-2). The team will head to Washington D.C. and play them on Saturday, May 11 at 7:00 pm.
