Sam Herr scored on the first shift of the game, giving the Green Bay Gamblers the only goal they would need Sunday in a 3-0 home win against the Waterloo Black Hawks at the Resch Center.
All three Gambler forwards touched the puck in short succession to set up the goal. Herr's linemates Nolan LaPorte and Alex Broadhurst were each credited with assists. Green Bay added two more scores in the second period. J.P. LaFontaine flipped in a cross-ice pass at 8:55, then Markus Lauridsen rattled in a shot off the post at 15:35.
Ryan McKay was credited with 32 saves for the Gamblers, earning his fourth shutout of the season. C.J. Motte stopped 29 shots in the Waterloo crease.
The Hawks continue their road trip in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Wednesday with a meeting against Team USA. The opening faceoff is slated for 6:05.
