Cowlitz Black Bears News Release
Longview: June 12, 2012: The Corvallis Knights took advantage of three errors to defeat the Cowlitz Black Bears 4-0 and sweep the two-game series Tuesday night at Story field.
Cole Irvin (Oregon) started on the mound for the Black Bears and was the tough luck loser, as he only allowed one earned run in five innings. However, a pair of errors by the Black Bears yielded two more runs during Irvin's stint. Corvallis added another unearned run in the seventh.
Taylor Williams (Mt. Hood CC) and Zev Egli (Mt. Hood CC) were both solid in relief for the Black Bears, not allowing any earned runs in two innings apiece. Brian Frattali (U of Portland) led the Black Bears at the plate with two base hits.
The Black Bears next home game is against the Corvallis Knights on Tuesday, June 19. It will be Azteca $2 Tuesday where general admission tickets, hot dogs, soda, and beer are all $2 apiece. It is also Kelso-Longview Chamber of Commerce Night and COC members receive $2 off any ticket and $5 off Party Deck tickets.
