July 3, 2013 - West Coast League (WCL)
Kelowna Falcons News Release
Longview, WA: It took exactly two hours for the Cowlitz Black Bears to defeat the Kelowna Falcons 7-1 on Tuesday night in Longview, Washington to begin a three game series.
The Black Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first three innings off starter Marc-Andre Habeck. The Falcons offense, which collected 17 hits the night before in Bend had just one in that same period.
The Bears would score two more in the fifth before the Falcons scored their only run in the seventh. After Reed Lavallee singled with two out in the inning, Preston Gray would double him in two pitches later for his fourth RBI of the season.
Gray would be the lone bright spot offensively finishing 2-3 with two doubles and the only RBI.
The Falcons will take on the Black Bears again on Wednesday evening as Jason Mouton will get the start.
