Black Bears Can't Hold 2-0 Lead

June 15, 2011 - West Coast League (WCL)
Cowlitz Black Bears News Release

Longview-Kelso: June 14, 2011: In the second game of a three-game series, the Cowlitz Black Bears struck first with two runs in the first inning. That line held until the Wenatchee AppleSox evened the score at two apiece in the sixth. They chased Cowlitz starter Kevin Bosson (Cal Poly-Pomona) in the seventh when they sent eleven batters to the plate and tallied six runs.

Offensively, it was another tough night for the Black Bears. Billy Flamion (Central Catholic HS) collected a double and a triple. Strikeouts were a problem, as AppleSox pitchers racked up nine punchouts.

Tomorrow is the final game of the series and the homestand for Cowlitz. It will be Burgerville Family Night where $28 gets you four general admission tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas. It will also be Longview Schools Spirit Night, so be sure to wear your school's colors.
