
Black Bears Beat the Ports 6-4, Return Home

Longview: June 24, 2012: The Black Bears scored six runs in the first two innings and had six pitchers combine to hold the Portland Bucks at bay in a 6-4 win Sunday evening at Story Field.
Tyler Madrid (Santa Ana) had a two-run single in the first inning to get the offense going. Cody Childs (Mt. Hood) hit a two-run double off the left field wall in the second inning, and Madrid and Nick Paxton (Mt. Hood) added RBI singles to extend the lead.
Ryan McCarthy (Rice) started on the mound and was hitless through three innings, ultimately allowing two earned runs in four innings. Nick Richardson (UC Santa Barbara) made his Black Bears debut on the mound and Cody Rogina (UC Riverside) struck out three in the ninth to record the save.
The Black Bears next home game is against Kitsap on Tuesday, July 3rd at 6:35 PM and it will be Azteca $2 Tuesday. There will be $2 general admission tickets, $2 hot dogs, $2 soda. And $2 beer. There will be a Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza presented by Links Four Corners General Store.
