Buffalo Bisons News Release
TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the third game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Park (7:05 p.m.). The Herd trails 0-2 in the series following last night's doubleheader sweep. The Bisons are 2-3 on this seven-game roadtrip that concludes tomorrow. On the mound for the Herd tonight will be RHP Matt Ginter. The veteran is looking to bounce back from a pair of losses to begin June. The IronPigs will counter with RHP Gary Knotts.
BULLY FOR THE PEN: The Bisons relievers have posted 10 consecutive scoreless innings dating back to the end of Monday night's win in Pawtucket. Over the 10-inning span, the pen has posted 10 strikeouts with only three hits allowed. Last night, RHP Oneli Perez struck out two in an inning of Game 1 while RHP Jensen Lewis put up three zeroes on the scoreboard in Game 2
RBI GUYS: OF Jason Cooper collected his 27th RBI of the season with his double in the 2nd inning of Game 1. Cooper is now tied with OF Brad Snyder for second on the team, two RBI behind INF Aaron Herr (29). Cooper's 204RBI as a Bison are 3rd most in the team's Modern Era (Bill Selby, 245, Jeff Manto 207).
CATCHING ON: C Wyatt Toregas is 6-11 at the plate on the current roadtrip; good for a.545 batting average. He has also scored twice and driven in three runs during the roadie. His 23RBI on the season are T4th on the Bisons team.
BISONS BITS: Last night's Game 2 was only the second time the Bisons have been shutout this season (May 15(1), 2-0 Loss to Pawtucket)...OF Brad Snyder is 19 for his last 49 at the plate, good for a .388 batting average since May 26.
