Bischofberger traded to Miners

Surprise Fightin' Falcons News Release


The Surprise Fightin' Falcons have completed a trade with the Mesa Miners including one player from each team. The trade began before spring training when the Miners sent Paul Powell to Surprise for a later consideration. The trade was completed last night when the Falcons sent Sean Bischofberger to the Miners.

Powell was born in Joplin, Missouri on December 26, 1979. He attended Seminole Junior College and Oklahoma State University. He played for the San Angelo Colts and the Bangor Lumberjacks. Powell plays third base and shortstop, and he also bats and throws right-handed.

Bischofberger was born in Gretna, Louisiana on December 6, 1979. He bats and throws right handed, plays third base, first base, and left field. He attended Cal State Fullerton, and currently resides in Coldwater, Mississippi. Bischofberger was drafted by the Cook County Cheetahs, and also played with the River City Rascals.

The Falcons face the San Diego Surf Dawgs tonight at Surprise Stadium in their first pre-season game. Game time is 7:30 PM. The game is free to the public and concessions will be open.

Single game tickets for the Fightin' Falcons inaugural season are currently on sale at the Surprise Stadium Ticket Office, 15960 N. Bullard, Surprise, AZ 85374, by calling 480-784-4444 or by going on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.

The ticket office is open Monday-Friday 9 am – 5 pm. On game days Monday – Saturday during the season the ticket office will be open from 9 am – bottom of the 5th inning. On Sunday game days the ticket office will be open from 11 a.m. to the bottom of the 5th inning. Single game tickets range in price from $5 to $10.
