Birmingham Steeldogs Announce Partnership With Verizon Wireless

Birmingham, AL â Verizon Wireless, the nation's best, most reliable wireless network, announced today that it has been named the official wireless provider of the Birmingham Steeldogs. In their sixth year as part of the arenafootball2 league, Steeldog fan support has grown to over 7,000 per home game. Beginning in 2005, fans will be able to enjoy first class communication services from Verizon Wireless at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex as they cheer on Steeldogs Head Coach Bobby Humphrey, a former All-American running back from the University of Alabama.
Verizon Wireless will provide wireless voice and data service to the organization, team and coaching staff. In addition, the agreement provides for co-marketing initiatives, awareness campaigns and community outreach.
"We're excited to have Verizon Wireless on board as our wireless provider," Steeldogs owner and managing partner Scott Myers said. "We believe this sponsorship will help us deliver on our mission of providing a total entertainment experience for our fans and the Birmingham community at large."
Major provisions for Verizon Wireless include:
· Designation as the Official Wireless Provider of the Birmingham Steeldogs
· Prominent display in team advertising, web sites, signage, promotions, events and other Steeldogs media
· Marketing promotions including on-field fan participation contests
· Logo recognition on all coaches' headsets and battery packs
· Hosting HopeLine wireless phone drives in support of domestic violence awareness and prevention
