BINGHAMTON - One week after signing their first player for the 2012 season, Binghamton IFL has signed another player by inking WR Jamel Harris to a contract.
Jamel comes to the Southern Tier having played college football for Temple University. Coming out of high school, Jamel was one of the top recruits in the nation at wide receiver. Listed at 6'1", 195 pounds, Jamel brings explosiveness to the indoor game and will be a major contributor for the offense.
In 2010, he played indoor football for the Yakima Valley Warriors for seven games. During those seven games for Yakima, Harris recorded 42 receptions for 509 yards and 7 touchdowns. Showing off his versatility, he also dressed as a DB for four games and had 2 interceptions with 1 being returned for a touchdown.
"I'm more than excited to join the new team! I am looking to be one of the pillars that hold together not only a successful team and season, but also the organization." said Harris through a phone call on Tuesday.
Having grown up in the Philadelphia region, Jamel took his talents to Yakima which was in the state of Washington. Now he gets a chance to play in a situation that is more fitting for him. "It's going to be a great experience to finally be able to play close to home!"
