Billerica, Lowell Set to Face off in Lowell Spinners World Series Final

LOWELL, Massachusetts - The annual Lowell Spinners High School World Series took place during the afternoon of May 23rd , 2016. Four local high schools consisting of North Andover, Billerica, Chelmsford, and Lowell took the field for the semifinal games.

In the first semifinal game, the Billerica Indians claimed a victory over the North Andover Scarlet Knights 6-1. In the second game, Lowell took down Chelmsford 5-1.

North Andover and Chelmsford will be playing in a consolation game tonight, May 24th , at 5:00 p.m. Whichever team is defeated tonight will be knocked out of the tournament for next year's tournament. The fourth-place team is replaced on a yearly basis while the other three will be invited back next year.

Billerica will play Lowell in the championship game this Tuesday evening of May 24th at 7 p.m. The winner of this tournament will win a 3-foot-tall Lowell Spinners Canaligator bobble head trophy. One member from each tournament team will also receive a $500 scholarship from the Spinners. The Spinners will again host the game at LeLacheur Park.
