Bighorns Pull a Victory over the Stampede at Home

RENO, NEV., Dec. 30, 2014- The Bighorns attacked the basket tonight against the Idaho Stampede and notched another win in their belt, defeating the Idaho 118-115.

Bighorns guard Ra'Shad James led the Bighorns totaling 20 points, six assists, and nine rebounds. Jordan Hamilton followed James closely, netting 17 points, and adding two steals.

During the first quarter of play, Hamilton led the Bighorns with seven points, while David Stockton and Sim Bhullar each added five points. Bighorns ended the quarter shooting 47.8% from the field.

In the second quarter, the Bighorns shot 40.0% from behind the arc, compared to the Stampede's 33.3%. Quincy Miller totaled seven points, and two rebounds in the quarter, while Ra'shad James netted five points. After a dunk by Stefhon Hannah, the Bighorns went into the locker room at the half leading the Stampede 60-52.

James led the Bighorns in the third quarter, totaling nine points, and two assists. Reno ended the quarter shooting 50.0% from the field.

In the final quarter of the game, Tajuan Porter totaled eight points, while James notched three rebounds, and three assists. The Bighorns went 61.5% percent from the field, and 50.0% from behind the arc.

"We did a great job at attacking the basket tonight," said Bighorns head coach Dave Arseneault. "We have a couple of things to work on during practice, and need to get used to new teammates."

Stampede guard Shane Gibson led the team finishing with 33 points, and three rebounds. Jerrelle Benimon added 30 points, seven assists, and 14 rebounds for the Stampede.

The Bighorns will hit the road this weekend, taking on the Los Angeles D-Fenders this Saturday, January 3.
