
Bighorns Fall Short to the Warriors

RENO, NV - Despite a final quarter surge by the Bighorns and double-double by Vince Hunter, the Bighorns fell 118-114 to the Santa Cruz Warriors at the Reno Events Center Sunday night.
Erick Green paced the Bighorns, netting 40 points and adding six rebounds and six assists. Vince Hunter totaled 21 points, 13 rebounds and two assists while Ricky Ledo notched 17 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
Green led the Bighorns in the first quarter with eight points and two assists. Ledo totaled three points, four rebounds and three assists in the quarter while Cliff Hammonds and Chad Toppert had three points each.
In the second quarter, Green netted ten points and tallied two rebounds and three assists. Hammonds followed Green closely, notching nine points, one rebound and one assist. Hunter had eight points in the quarter while Mark Tyndale totaled four points and three rebounds.
The Bighorns went into the locker room trailing the Warriors 68-65.
During the third quarter, Green paced the Bighorns with 12 points and two rebounds. Green went 3-4 from the field and 2-3 from behind the arc. Ledo notched eight points and three rebounds in the third. Hunter shot 100 percent from the paint (2-2), scoring five points and adding five rebounds in the quarter.
The Bighorns outscored the Warriors in the final quarter 28-25. Green led the Bighorns in the quarter, scorng 10 points and adding one assists and one rebound. Ledo tallied six points in the quarter, while Reggie Hearn notched six points and one assists. Hunter grabbed six rebounds in the quarter while adding six points.
The Bighorns outscored the Warriors in the second half 56-53. Green had 22 points in second half while Hunter tallied 11 rebounds.
The Bighorns face the Idaho Stampede on Friday, Nov. 27 at 6 p.m. in Boise, ID. The Bighorns return to the Reno Events Center Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. to host the Austin Spurs.
