
Bighorns Defeat Stampede In Overtime Thriller

Reno, Nev., Feb. 24, 2013 - The Reno Bighorns (13-18) defeated the Idaho Stampede (10-21) in an overtime thriller 102-100 Sunday afternoon.
The two teams played back and forth the entire game, with 15 different lead changes and 12 ties throughout. The game was tied 95-95 at the end of regulation. Marcus Landry hit a three-pointer at the start of overtime and the Bighorns never looked back. Idaho had a chance to tie the game with 10 seconds left in overtime, but Seth Tarver missed an open jump shot.
The Bighorns were led by Jerome Jordan's 21 points and 11 rebounds. Samardo Samuels recorded his fourth double-double in a row, with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Dar Tucker and Tajuan Porter had 18 points apiece, and Marcus Landry chipped in 17 points.
Sean Evans, Justin Holiday and Coby Karl each scored 17 points for Idaho.
Reno shot 46% from the field, compared to 36% for Idaho.
The Bighorns hit the road for this week, taking on Santa Cruz Tuesday and Wednesday.
Reno returns home on Thursday, March 7th to face the Stampede again.
