
Beverley's Buzzer Beater Sinks the Vipers

Hidalgo, Texas, - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers, affiliate of the Houston Rockets, lost to Canton Charge 107-109. Canton's Gerald Beverly scored a buzzer beater to give the away team the win.
Canton's London Perrantes led both teams in scoring with 29 points. Isaiah Hartenstein led the Vipers with 22 points. Briante Weber had a double-double with 11 assists and 21 points.
Isaiah Hartenstein was key to the strong performance the Vipers had in the opening quarter. Hartenstein's 11 points in the first quarter helped the Vipers maintain a 28-19 lead as both teams entered the second quarter.
RGV was able to fend off the Charge in the second quarter. London Perrantes found his rhythm, scoring 17 points in the second quarter. The first half ended 65-53 with the Vipers on top.
Not much separated both teams in the third quarter. Rio Grande Valley held a 90-80 lead as the fourth quarter started. With 1:18 left in the game, JaCorey Williams scored off a lay-up to tie things up 107-107.
In the last seconds of the game, Canton Charge capitalized off a Monte Morris turnover. JaCorey Williams missed the initial layup, but Geral Beverly got the offensive rebound and layed it up for the game winner.
The RGV Vipers will host Texas Legends next on December 21. The game is set to tipoff at 7p.m. (CT).
