
Bes to Lead ALS Fundraiser

Mississippi Surge head coach Jeff Bes will step from behind the bench to behind the bar in order to help fight Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease.
Bes will serve as a celebrity bartender at Beef O'Brady's (3680 Sangani Blvd. In D'Iberville)on Thursday, August 30th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Bes will pour soft drinks and other beverages, while encouraging fans to tip to help battle ALS.
"This is a disease that touches so many people, that I'm glad to do my part to help," Bes, the reigning Southern Professional Hockey League Coach of the Year said. "We'd like to see all of our Surge fans come out to Beef O'Brady's to help this cause."
"We are thankful to have Coach Bes and the Mississippi Surge's support in the fight against ALS," Brandi Nickles, the care services Director for the ALS Association of Mississippi said. "Every dollar counts and will help fund research and care services."
Nickles expects to be on hand at Beef O'Brady's to provide additional information about local ALS service.
The Surge will begin its fourth season of play in the SPHL on Saturday October 27th at home against the Pensacola Ice Flyers. Once again, this season, the Surge will have 28 home games at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
