Bes Takes Four Awards At Season Ticket Holder Party

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League held their annual post season ticket holder party Wednesday night at the Laredo Entertainment Center. During the party team sponsors presented awards that were voted on by the Bucks players.

Jeff Bes took home four team awards including Team MVP, Point Man of the Year, Most Popular Player, and Future Hockey Coach.

Bes had a stellar season, winning his second CHL MVP award, being named to his first All-CHL Team, and his third All-Star team. Bes finished third in the league in scoring with 106 points (46-60=106), while becoming the teams all-time goal scorer (166), and all-time single season goal scorer (46). In the postseason Bes put up 12 points (3-9=12).

James Hiebert won two team awards Wednesday night, as he took home Tough Man of the Year, and Team Enforcer honors. Hiebert put up 186 penalty minutes in the regular season, and another 36 in the playoffs. Earlier this season Hiebert was voted the third best fighter pound for pound in the CHL's annual Best of the Best Poll.

Other awards handed out Wednesday night were, Rookie of the year (Andrew Desjardins), Mr. Community (Steve Simoes), and Smartest Player (Serge Dube).
