Yannick Riendeau named CHL Player of the Week

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Yannick Riendeau of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies is the CHL Player of the Week after scoring three goals and five assists for eight points in two playoff games last week. Riendeau scored two game-winners to help the Huskies sweep the Saint John Sea Dogs in the QMJHL's Telus Division final series.

Riendeau started the week with two goals and four assists in an 8-1 win over the Sea Dogs in Game 3 of the series on Tuesday and then scored a goal and an assist in a 5-4 win in the series finale on Wednesday.

Riendeau, a 19-year-old from Brossard, Quebec, has seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points in 12 playoff games.

Mike Duco of the Kitchener Rangers was the OHL nominee after scoring three goals in two games and Carter Bancks of the Lethbridge Hurricanes was the WHL nominee after scoring four goals in two games.
