
Ben Allen Returns for the 2014 Season

Alexandria,Minn - The Alexandria Blue Anchors, a member of the Northwoods League, have announced the signing of 3B, Ben Allen.
Allen, a freshman at Des Moines Area Community College has appeared in 27 games for the Bears this season. During that time he has recorded a .394 average with 21 RBI and 1 home run.
Originally from Alexandria and being the son of Owner Scott Allen, Ben has been around the league a longtime and is happy to be a part of it. "I'm really fortunate to be able to stay in Alex this summer and play in front of my family and friends. I'm looking forward to competing for a spot on the Anchors and I'm extremely excited about playing for Newmie again."
Born September 19, 1994, Ben is the son of Scott and Amy Allen. In his free time Ben enjoys fishing and playing pond hockey. He is currently studying kinesiology at DMACC.
"It's always nice when you can add local talent to the ball club," said GM Kendall Hughson. "Ben has had a solid spring down at DMACC and I look for him to use that confidence he has built and bring it to a ballpark that he is familiar with."
The Blue Anchors will start the 2014 season on Tuesday May 27th at home versus the Mankato MoonDogs.
