Philadelphia Liberty Belles News Release
January 2003 - Conshohocken - The Philadelphia Liberty Belles (PLB) scheduled 3 tryout dates to build their 2003 team of talented, athletic women to focus on taking the Championship away from the New York Sharks in their first season with the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL).
The PLB coaches stood in awe of the determination and excitement of the women who pushed themselves to be a part of a Championship team. With the assistance of 8 & more coaches, the applicants exhibited their best performance, in hopes of fulfilling a lifelong dream. Many of the applicants were just what the PLB needed to build a Championship team.
"It's really amazing to hear the excitement and see the determination of these women", states Head Coach, Bill Beall. "They want to learn and all of the coaches are just as determined to teach them."
Many players will drive over 2 hours, one way, to practice 3 times a week. That is TRUE dedication!
The PLB Board of Directors, coaches, family, kids, friends and fans were there for the announcement of acceptance into the PLB and the introduction of the Board and staff. The coaches each gave their words of support and the Board of Directors and staff stated their determination to work on their behalf to help get them through the season.
The 2003 Philadelphia Liberty Belles are eager and determined to get themselves ready to play in the spring of 2003 and go to the Championship game.
