November 14, 2002 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF)
Tennessee Valley Raptors News Release

Huntsville, AL- Tennessee Valley Viper offensive/defensive lineman, Chris Bell, becomes the third Viper to sign in the Arena Football League when he signed with the Carolina Cobras today.

Bell joined the Vipers on April 20 after the Toronto Phantoms released him. He played in14 games and recorded 3.0 tackles, 1.5 for-a-loss of one yard, 0.5 sack for seven yards and two pass break ups on defense. He was one of the Vipers beast offensive linemen throughout the season from the center position.

"Chris is a very good center," Viper head coach, Kevin Guy said. "Good centers are hard to find and when you find one that can give you something on defense that is a plus. Chris did not have the best stats on defense, but he made his presence known. It is hard for a quarterback to throw over a 6-7 nose guard."

He becomes the third Viper center in three years to join the AFL. Matt Norwood is now with the Detroit Fury after stops at Carolina and Dallas, and Justin Cleveland spent last season with Carolina.
