Atlanta Beat News Release

ATLANTA (March 17, 2003) - The Atlanta Beat today waived defender Lisa Krzykowski, a two-year member of the team. The Beat drafted Krzykowski, the all time leading scorer for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, in the 7th round of the inaugural WUSA draft.

Over her two-year career with the Atlanta Beat, Krzykowski played in 31 regular season games, starting 27, and she started all three of the Beat's postseason contests. Krzykowski recorded one goal and four assists for six points with the Beat. She missed seven games during the middle part of the Beat's 2002 season, after suffering a broken left ulna in a collision with a CyberRays player.

"Lisa's been a valuable contributor to the Beat both on and off the field," said Beat Head Coach Tom Stone. "This was the most difficult personnel decision we've had to make in our two year existence. We went ahead and waived her now to give her as much opportunity as possible to get into other teams' camps before final roster cuts."

The Beat opens up at home on April 5, 2003, versus the New York Power. Full Season Tickets as well as a special Five-Game Beat Pack, that features tickets to the most popular games in 2003, are currently available at prices starting at just $99 for all 11 games and $45 for the Five Pack. Individual tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at all TicketMaster outlets or by calling the TicketMaster number in your area.
