Newark Bears News Release
NEWARK, NJ, November 1âThe Newark Bears are known for delivering hits during the baseball season; but this past Saturday the team proved that it can deliver a hit in the off-season, too, as over 1,000 people filed into Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium for the club's first annual Fall Fest.
Highlighted by pumpkin picking in the Bears special centerfield pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting in the team's picnic area and an on-field Halloween Costume Parade and Contest, Fall Fest provided an afternoon full of smiles and good times.
"I believe an event like Fall Fest shows that the Bears are committed to making a positive impact in the city of Newark," said Bears Senior Vice President and General Manager Dean Rivera. "We are so pleased that so many members of the community came out and enjoyed Fall Fest."
Over 40 local vendors took part in the Fall Fest, providing their wares on the concourse of the ballpark. In addition local New Jersey bar band, Lucky, performed throughout Fall Fest, adding to the fun-filled atmosphere.
The Bears also collected canned goods, toiletries and clothing for the men and women of The United States Air Force who are currently serving overseas. Each fan who donated an item received a free gift, courtesy of the Bears.
