August 9, 2004 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Port Huron Flags News Release

PORT HURON, MI- The Port Huron Beacons of the United Hockey League (UHL) would like to announce that a small piece of the Silver Stick puzzle has been solved.

Two of the four dates have been resolved in the scheduling conflict of both Silver Sticks and Beacons, in which both share the same dates. The Saturday game on January 22nd, will go on as planned but at 8:00 p.m. instead of the normal 7:00 p.m. starting time. This is approximately one hour following the conclusion of the Silver Sticks game in the main arena for that day.

Also the Beacons swapped three home dates with the new Motor City franchise. The first being Saturday January 8th in which the original schedule had the Beacons playing at home; that game has been moved to Motor City. On Saturday November 6th the Beacons were originally scheduled to play Motor City in Fraser; that game has been made a Port Huron home game. Finally the Beacons game on January 16th at Motor City has been moved to October 31st at Motor City

The Beacons are feverishly trying to resolve the other two dates. The first Friday January 7th is trying to be worked out with the other 13 teams in the UHL. Pat Hills, Silver Stick Director, is working with schedulers and other directors to try and come up with a solution for the last date, which is January 21st.

Season Tickets are on sale NOW!! Call the Beacons office at 810-989-9701 and ask about our Weekend plan, Michigan plan, 20 game plan and the Weekday plan.
