October 5, 2007 - Hawaii Winter Baseball 2 (HWB 2)
Waikiki BeachBoys News Release
Matt Inouye, a former University of Hawaii-Manoa standout and Mid-Pacific Institute graduate, has been added to the Waikiki BeachBoys roster for the remainder of the 2007 Hawaii Winter Baseball season, league officials announced today.
Inouye will fill a roster spot as a catcher. The team had previously held two backstops prior to Inouye being added.
The 5-10, 165-pound Chicago White Sox prospect played 40 games this summer for the Great Falls White Sox--Chicago's Rookie Pioneer League affiliate. He hit .309 with nine doubles, five home runs and 28 RBIs.
The BeachBoys are currently on Maui getting ready for a three-game set with the West Oahu CaneFires that starts tomorrow night at Iron Maehara Stadium. Inouye is expected to be there for the game, but plans are not yet confirmed. The new addition is scheduled to wear #8, and when that is confirmed, an updated roster will be sent out.
