Be A Pro Cheerleader

Austin Turfcats News Release


Austin, TX - The Austin Turfcats will hold a cheerleader clinic and tryout at Austin Cheer Factory March 21 and 22, 2009.

Come audition to dance and cheer for the fastest game on turf! The team will be holding cheerleader auditions at the end of this month for their inaugural season in Austin.

Audition requirements are as follows: Must be at least 18 by 3/21/09, be a high school graduate, be available to attend all games and practices, pay a non-refundable application fee of $50. Auditions will be held at Austin Cheer Factory. Candidates should wear hot pants or boy shorts, crop top or sports bra(be creative), jazz shoes and/or tennis shoes, and nude tights. Hair and makeup should be performance ready.

The audition process will span the course of two days. Candidates will be judged on dance ability, showmanship, personality, poise and appearance.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. and auditions will begin at 10:30 a.m. Doors will be closed at 10:45 a.m., so be on time no excuses allowed by director. The address for the Austin Cheer Factory is 13800 Dragline Drive, Suite A, Austin, Texas 78728. The pre-tryout clinic and interviews will be held Saturday, March 27, at 10 a.m.

Candidates will be judged on cheerleading skills (motions, dance ability, technique, spirit, and enthusiasm), overall presentation, and attitude during the clinic as well as the tryout.

The Turfcats cheerleading squad will be a symbol of Turfcat spirit and pride on and off the field. The squad will be featured at all Turfcats home games and Central Texas civic events.
